The Van Klapscheut family is a force to be reckoned with; this line has been delivering so many top sporthorses over the past decade and new talents keep coming up. Iliana van Klapscheut is a daughter of Grand Prix winner Lord Z out of the Grand Prix winning mare Coriana van Klapscheut. Ridden by both Pilar Lucrecia Cordon and Eric Lamaze, Coriana van Klapscheut performed at top level and won competitions at world’s most prestigious events, such as Spruce Meadows, La Coruña, La Baule, Valencia, Hong Kong and Mechelen. Ian addition, Iliana van Klapscheut’s son Mugano van Klapscheut is already competing at 1.55m level with Dan Kremer. In breeding, Coriana van Klapscheut produced Iliana’sfull brother, the former world champion Koriano van Klapscheut; ridden by Dayro Arroyave, Koriano became world champion as a 7-year-old in Lanaken in 2017.

Ridden by Dominique Hendrickx, Koriano went on to become a successful CSI5* Grand Prix showjumper, finishing second in the Grand Prix of Liège and competing at worldclass venues like Knokke, La Coruña, Madrid, Brussels, Amsterdam, Shanghai, et cetera. Coriana’s daughter Goriana van Klapscheut was a successful Grand Prix horseas well and ridden by Pilar Lucrecia Cordon, she competed in several World Cups.

Looking closer into Iliana van Klapscheut’s pedigree, we find that granddam Uriana van Klapscheut jumped up to 1.45m level with Nina Fagerström and stood at the basis of many success horses. Uriana is the direct dam of the 1.60m showjumpers Farah van Klapscheut en Fenom van Klapscheut as well as to the 1.45m jumper Blendy van Klapscheut. Uriana is also grand- or great-granddam to for instance Irco van Klapscheut (Marie Hecart), Fenia van Klapscheut (Marcel Marschall) and Esquina van Klapscheut (Lorcan Gallagher). All in all, Iliana van Klapscheut’s pedigree is full of performance genes. Itcomes as no surprise that her first offspring are already breaking through at international level. Her son Mugano van Klapscheut is an approved stallion by BWP and is now already performing at Grand Prix level with Israel’s Dan Kremer. It seems only a matter of time until more of Iliana’soffspring will follow in Mugano’s footsteps
